I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at Florida State University. Substantively, my research interests focus on the politics of authoritarian regimes, in particular transitions to and from democracy, populism, mass media, public opinion, and information control. In quantitative methodology, I'm interested in research design and causal inference in experiments and observational studies. Quintin Beazer
I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at Florida State University. I study comparative and international political economy and authoritarian politics, with specialization in the politics of Russia and the post-communist countries. My research examines how politics and economics interact in "messy" environments, where institutions are weak, in transition, or nondemocratic. My research has been published in the American Journal of Political Science and the Journal of Politics. I am an assistant professor in the Department of Government at Dartmouth College. My research focuses on fairness in politics, with applications to the study of discrimination, repression, and human rights. Methodologically, I am interested in research design, experiments, and using computational tools to better understand the social world. I have published work on these topics in the American Journal of Political Science, the British Journal of Political Science, the Journal of Politics, and Political Analysis, among other journals.
